2007 Fall Citrus Fundraising Program

Does Your Organization Want To Generate Thousands of Dollars With One Simple Fundraising Campaign?

Florida Indian River Groves offers a proven fundraising program. Just Follow Our 7 Easy Steps to a Successful Fall Citrus Fundraising Sale.

Get ready to receive the finest citrus available anywhere! At Florida Indian River Groves, we’re committed to your success! To help you Maximize your profits while Minimizing your effort, we've developed these seven easy steps for running a successful citrus sale:
  1. DECIDE ON THE VARIETIES YOU WISH TO SELL: We suggest Navel Oranges and Indian River Grapefruit. Approximately eighty percent of your total sales will consist of these two varieties. Keep your sale simple! It is a common misconception that you will double your sales by doubling the varieties your organization offer. This is simply not true!

  2. DECIDE ON SALE DATES: You will need to set three dates. A date to start your sale, a date on which to end your sale, and a preferred delivery week. We would recommend a selling period of three to six weeks. This will give your organization substantial time to sell while keeping member enthusiasm high. Deliveries will be made before the week of Thanksgiving and the first and second weeks in December. Decide on which week you would prefer. If your organization sells more than 1000 large cartons (or their equivalent), you may specify a specific delivery date. Otherwise, you must remain flexible on your delivery date. Should you need any assistance in setting your dates, please call our office at 1-800-468-3168. We are always available to assist you.

  3. ENTER YOUR RESERVATION: You may enter your reservation online, by phone, by fax, or by Mail. If you are unsure about specific items (such as citrus delivery address, requested delivery period, etc.) you may leave that information blank and contact us with that information at a later date. After we receive your reservation, we will schedule shipment of your free, color promotional materials via UPS. To view samples of our free promotional materials, click here. Sales materials can be shipped at any time. However, we recommend having your sales materials arrive well in advance of your actual start date to allow for extra preparation time.

  4. SET YOUR SELLING PRICE: First, you will need to contact Florida Indian River Groves to confirm current pricing for your area. The price quote you receive from us will include the cost of delivering our citrus to your location. This quote will include freight but does not include your profit margin.

To calculate your selling cost, we suggest adding a 40% profit to the cost of each large carton and a 50% profit to the cost of each small carton. If you need help, a member of our staff would be happy to assist you.

  5. PLACE YOUR ORDER: When your sale ends, telephone us with your complete order. Please note that all organizations requesting delivery prior to Thanksgiving must have their order placed no later than October 26th, 2007 and all organizations requesting a delivery any time after Thanksgiving must have their order placed no later than November 9th, 2007. We can normally change your order due to error. However, it is very time consuming to "add a few cartons" after you have placed your order. Please make every effort to ensure that your order is correct.

  6. SUBMIT YOUR CONFIRMING ORDER FORM: Included with your free promotional materials will be a confirming order form. Please complete this confirming order form and return it to our office on the same day your order is placed by phone. You may mail, fax, or enter your confirming order form online. This form allows us to double check your order prior to your citrus being shipped. Also, please mail, fax, or e-mail a map or set of directions to your delivery location. If you are prepaying your order, please include payment at this time. Be sure to deduct 1% of your total fruit cost as our thanks to you for prepaying.

  7. TAKE DELIVERY: We will contact you when your citrus leaves our packing facilities. The driver will also contact you enroute and will keep you advised of his or her progress. The driver's responsibility is to arrive on time. However, you will need to have volunteers on hand to unload the citrus. Included with you order will be 1% overage. These extra cartons are included to cover you in the unlikely event that a box is damaged in transit. When your citrus arrives in perfect condition, these boxes are yours to give to volunteers or to sell at 100% profit.

The entire process is very simple. We urge our clients to call us with any concerns they may have. We want you to be completely at ease and to enjoy this important activity.
